Ancient Myndos rests beneath the shallows of Gümüşlük, Turkey's most atmospheric bay. A village that still bans cars, a sunken city to snorkel through, and some of the peninsula's finest fish restaurants line the water's edge.

Calm & protectedAncient Myndos walls and columns lie 0.5–2 m beneath the surface in the northern shallows. Swim through history — mask and fins only. Motor boats prohibited inside the bay.

Ashore
Gümüşlük village is car-free. Excellent fish restaurants on the water, a Sunday antiques market, and a famous classical music festival in July.

Shallow bay — max draught 1.5 m for most spots. Arrive before noon for best position. Strong NW afternoon winds possible August–September.
